BEST New Innovation in Cleaning Pipes, Valves and industrial machinery since 1947!

Industrial machines and machine parts have always been hard to clean and maintain. Grease, Oil, dirt, paint and other contaminants prematurely degrade valves, pipes and other parts of a machine. Hard use creates impurities and burs in the metal which can then interfere with a smooth process, slowing the machine and making harsh grinding noises.

Maintaining smooth working surfaces on valves, pumps, bolts and all the various aspects of machinery is critical to the longevity of your investment in expensive, heavy duty machines yet over the years many of the most innovative methods of cleaning were abrasive, toxic, expensive and environmentally dangerous.

These challenges with cleaning machinery increase:

  • operating costs,
  • health issues,
  • insurance premiums,
  • long term environmental effects,
  • damage to the machinery

The last exciting innovation in de-flashing, de-burring and cleaning machinery of old oil, metal flakes and imperfections was with the invention of Dry Ice Cleaning in 1947. Before the onset of using Dry Ice, Pressure Washing was implemented in 1927 and Abrasive Blasting was invented as far back as 1870; all of which are individually dangerous enough to require extreme measures to maintain worker safety from airborne contaminants and specialized disposal methods, not to mention how expensive and challenging it can be to acquire the necessary cleansing ingredients.

The Solution:

WestCoast Valves and Pumps is proud to announce we have become your Vancouver Island Distributor of the Coulson Ice Blast, an innovative new, portable and environmentally friendly industrial machinery de-flashing, de-burring and cleaning method brought to you by Canadian owned company, Coulson Group!

It’s Not Dry Ice… Just ICE

What is safer – and more plentiful – than water? You can get it from any tap, freeze as much of it as you want, whenever you want and – unlike with dry ice – you can literally supply it yourself if you happen to run out at an inconvenient time. There’s no harsh chemicals added. It is literally just ice.

Coulson’s chemical free ICE Blast cleaning method, combined with the ICE Storm(90) ™ offers the same de-burring and cleaning benefits as older, harsher innovations like the Dry Ice or the abrasive cleaning method but without the same amount of environmentally hazardous waste and residual health risks to your employees!

The Ice Blast cleaning method and the Ice Storm blaster safely clean hard to reach areas of machinery of lead, paint and asbestos, oil, grease, ground in dirt and burs in the metal.

Watch this aluminum die cast deflashing with excellent results. The tests were performed at 90 PSI with one of Coulson’s new guns.
